CBP Seizes 1,790 lbs Of Meth Hidden In Frozen Mango At Laredo’s World Trade Bridge

On Sept. 9, CBP officers at Laredo’s World Trade Bridge seized 733 packages containing 1,790.59 pounds of alleged methamphetamine (estimated street value $16M) hidden in a shipment of frozen mangoes. The seizure, discovered after a nonintrusive inspection scan and canine sweep, was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for a criminal probe. This incident reinforces an accelerating pattern of large meth interdictions at Laredo POEs.
