ICE Arrests 7,488 In New York—On Track To Double 2024; Summer Peak, Federal Plaza Hotspot, Minors Detained
New data via the Deportation Data Project show at least 7,488 ICE arrests in New York through mid-October, putting 2025 on pace to double 2024. Arrests peaked in summer before a slight August–September dip, with heavy activity at NYC’s Federal Plaza and clustered upstate operations including the Cato raid and an ERO Buffalo sweep. At least 78 minors were arrested Aug–Oct; two recent deaths in ICE custody are noted. A significant share of those arrested had no criminal charges beyond immigration violations.
