CBP AMO, USCG Intercept Bahamas Boat Off Florida Coast; 12 Migrants Detained

CBP Air and Marine Operations, working with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, stopped a 25-foot cabin cruiser about 11 nautical miles off Juno Beach after it reportedly departed Freeport, Bahamas. Agents found 12 people aboard—six Haitians, three Chinese, two Bahamians, and one Brazilian—who were transferred to USCG Cutter Robert Yered for processing. The nighttime multi-agency operation used AMO aircraft and Coastal Interceptor Vessels to locate and stop the unlit boat. The interdiction aligns with a steady pattern of AMO maritime stops across the Caribbean–Florida corridor.
