CBP Nabs 78-Year-Old LPR Wanted For Child Sex Assault At Brownsville Port

CBP officers at the Los Indios International Bridge in Brownsville referred a 78-year-old lawful permanent resident to secondary inspection, where biometric and NCIC checks revealed an outstanding Illinois felony warrant for sexual assault of a child. Officers confirmed his identity and turned him over to local authorities for jail transport and adjudication. The case fits a recent South Texas port-of-entry cluster where CBP’s biometric/NCIC screening has flagged fugitives on child sex-offense warrants. Charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
