CBP SAN DIEGO FIELD OFFICE SEIZES 9,800 LBS IN JULY; CANINE, SECONDARY INSPECTIONS BUST GAS‑TANK COCAINE LOAD AT SAN YSIDRO

CBP’s San Diego Field Office reported more than 9,800 pounds of narcotics seized in July across 132 incidents, including 6,677 lbs meth, 2,852 lbs cocaine, 326 lbs fentanyl, and 27 lbs heroin. A standout case on July 28 at San Ysidro used computer targeting and a canine alert to uncover 487 lbs of cocaine hidden in a bus’s gas tank. CBP credits precision targeting, secondary inspections, and canine teams for the interdictions.
