CBP officers at the San Ysidro Port of Entry intercepted nearly 290 pounds of heroin valued at over $13 million concealed in a 2008 Chevy Silverado, following a K9 alert and non-intrusive inspection. Officers recovered 72 packages from multiple hidden compartments, arrested a Mexican citizen who is a U.S. lawful permanent resident, and turned the case over to HSI. The U.S. Attorney’s Office accepted federal importation charges. CBP officials credited canine teams and inspection technology for the record-setting seizure.

ICE To Open 24/7 Nashville Call Center To Track Unaccompanied Migrant Children

ICE plans a 24/7 call center in Nashville to collect tips—primarily from state and local police—aimed at locating unaccompanied migrant children and other immigration violators.
