ICE Detains Colorado 5th‑Grade Teacher And Family, Transfers Them To Texas Facility

A Global Village Academy fifth-grade teacher in Parker, CO, and several family members, including minor children, were detained by ICE over the weekend and transferred to a Texas detention facility, the school said. Administrators scrambled to staff the classroom. The school stated the teacher holds valid work authorization through spring 2029 and completed I-9 and Colorado Bureau of Investigations checks; it does not participate in E-Verify. ICE has been asked for comment.
