INSEE: FRANCE ADDS 434,000 FOREIGN‑BORN IN 2024, AFRICA DRIVES SURGE
France’s foreign-born population rose by 434,000 in 2024 to 7.7 million, per INSEE data cited by Breitbart. Roughly 70% of the increase is attributed to arrivals from African countries, signaling a shift in origin composition. INSEE figures also indicate around 5.1 million remain foreign nationals and 2.6 million have naturalized. The foreign-born now represent about 8.8% of France’s population, below the EU average.
