Pew: 52% Of Hispanics Fear Deportation As ICE Crackdowns Escalate

Two Pew Research Center surveys of U.S. Hispanic adults conducted in September and October found growing pessimism about Hispanics’ place in the country and declining approval of President Trump’s handling of the economy and immigration. Majorities disapprove of the administration’s approach to immigration, and many report increased worry that they or someone close could be deported. The polls also found rising financial stress, with many Hispanics saying conditions for their community have worsened over the past year and some changing daily routines or carrying proof of status more often. The findings suggest enforcement actions and economic concerns are shaping attitudes and political alignment among Hispanic adults.
