UCLA: ICE Latino Arrests DOUBLE Under Trump’s Second Term — 255% Surge In Community Sweeps

A UCLA Luskin Center for Neighborhood Knowledge analysis with the Unseen initiative, using Berkeley Law’s Deportation Data Project, finds ICE arrests of Latinos surged during the first half of 2025. Latinos made up roughly 90% of arrests; daily arrests nearly doubled in Trump’s first 100 days and rose further afterward. Community-based enforcement climbed 255%, with the sharpest increases among nationals of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and Venezuela and hotspots in Texas, Florida, California, Georgia, and Virginia.
