AVOLO AIRLINES' SECRET DEPORTATION FLIGHTS UNCOVERED DESPITE DHS SILENCE

NBC Connecticut Investigates has been looking into Avelo Airlines' involvement in deportation flights. They observed an unbranded Avelo plane at Tweed Airport, which tracking software identified as one of three used by Avelo for such flights, though not at Tweed. The airline states it is in full compliance with U.S. laws, and ICE lists various operational locations for these flights. The investigation detailed specific Avelo flights to Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador. Despite efforts, obtaining Avelo's contract with DHS proved difficult, with DHS claiming records don't exist or are exempt from Freedom of Information laws.
