Bolingbrook Blocks ICE Bodycam Video After Agents Say They Were Battered
Bolingbrook declined to release body camera footage from an Oct. 19 encounter in which two ICE agents reported being battered during an arrest attempt. Citing the Illinois Law Enforcement Officer-Worn Body Camera Act, the village said access is limited to subjects, their attorneys, and involved officers, and does not consider public interest. The Herald-News asked the Illinois attorney general to review the FOIA denial. ICE has not answered questions; police said ICE may pursue federal charges, but no arrests were made.
