Judge Orders Border Patrol Chief Behind Chicago ‘Midway Blitz’ To Appear Daily, Wear Body Cam After Tear Gas Clashes

A federal judge in Chicago ordered Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino to appear in court daily and to wear a body camera, citing videos suggesting agents exceeded limits on force and tear gas during immigration enforcement under “Operation Midway Blitz.” The court also demanded use-of-force reports and body-cam footage since the Sept. 2 launch of the operation and set a Nov. 5 hearing. The move follows multiple clashes with protesters and allegations of court-order violations during arrests in Latino neighborhoods.
