CBP Seizes 9 Weapons, 15 Magazines in Outbound Stop at Del Rio Port of Entry

CBP Office of Field Operations officers at the Del Rio Port of Entry seized nine weapons and 15 magazines hidden inside a 1998 Ford E-350 van and trailer during outbound inspections on Aug. 14. A nonintrusive scan and canine exam led to a physical inspection; the Texas DPS arrested the driver and opened a criminal investigation. The incident fits a broader cluster of recent port-of-entry interdictions in Texas that have largely focused on narcotics but now include outbound weapons seizures.
