EAGLE PASS SEIZURE TIES INTO AUGUST TEXAS METH CLUSTER; CBP NABS 22.7 LBS OF METH, 2.3 LBS OF COCAINE

CBP officers at Eagle Pass Port of Entry seized 22.7 lbs of suspected methamphetamine and 2.3 lbs of suspected cocaine hidden in a cooler liner after a secondary inspection at the Camino Real International Bridge on Aug. 31. The seizureâvalued at about $238,915âmatches two other large meth interceptions in August at Laredo and Del Rio, forming a short-term cluster of interdictions across Texas ports of entry. Insight analysis indicates a possible uptick in smuggling via passenger vehicles and concealed compartments or intensified CBP targeting in the corridor.
