Eight Indicted in Michigan Ring Packing 350+ Stolen Cars Into Shipping Containers for Overseas Export

Federal prosecutors unsealed an indictment charging eight Michigan men with running a multi-year car theft and international smuggling operation. Authorities allege suspects packed multiple stolen vehicles into shipping containers and moved them by freight/rail to ports for overseas shipment; investigators recovered more than 350 vehicles with help from Dearborn Police, ICE HSI, CBP and the FBI.
