Florida AG Subpoenas Trucking Firm After Undocumented Driver With California CDL Linked To Fatal Turnpike Crash

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced subpoenas for White Hawk Carriers after Harjinder Singh, an undocumented truck driver who obtained a California CDL, allegedly made an illegal U-turn on Aug. 12 on the Florida Turnpike that led to a crash killing three people. Singh was arrested in Stockton, California, extradited to Florida and an ICE detainer was issued. The AG criticized sanctuary-state licensing policies and sent legal demands to California and Washington as civil and criminal inquiries target the employer's role and licensing procedures.
