HOUSTON ICE SWEEPS NET 822: GANG MEMBERS, CHILD PREDATORS AND REPEATED REENTRANTS ARRESTED

A weeklong ICE operation in southeast Texas (Aug. 17–23) resulted in 822 arrests, including transnational gang members, convicted murderers, child predators and foreign fugitives. ICE said roughly 330 had prior removal orders and about 112 had been deported and illegally reentered. The reporting largely mirrors the ICE release but includes commentary from a former judge linking migrant sex-crime arrests to border enforcement failures.
