ICE Arrests Egyptian National in Corpus Christi; Agency Blames Biden-Era Bond Policies

ICE arrested Ahmed Mohamed Yasser Salama, 35, in Corpus Christi on Aug. 21, 2025, in coordination with the FBI. Salama faced a 2019 felony sexual-abuse indictment, was previously taken into ICE custody in Sept. 2021, granted an immigration bond in Nov. 2021, pleaded to a reduced harassment charge in Aug. 2024, and remains in removal proceedings. ICE framed the arrest as a consequence of bond decisions under the Biden administration and reiterated enforcement priorities.
