ICE Deportations In California Up 78%: 5,500 Removed Jan–Jul As Noncriminal Cases Spike

New state-level data shows ICE deported about 5,500 people from California between January and July 2025, a 78% increase from the same period in 2024. Removals accelerated in late spring and summer alongside a surge in arrests, and deportations of people without criminal records climbed to roughly 1,500.
