ICE reports a 63-year-old Chinese national held at the South Texas ICE Processing Center in Pearsall died Oct. 25, 2025, at Methodist Metropolitan Hospital in San Antonio following complications from heart surgery. He was hospitalized Oct. 11 for heart failure and related issues, underwent mitral valve replacement Oct. 23, and was pronounced dead after his family requested withdrawal of lifesaving measures. ICE notified DHS OIG and OPR; autopsy results are pending.
