ICE Detains 4 Colombian Burglary Suspects In Eugene; Lobby Arrests And Rapid Tacoma Transfers Clash With Oregon Sanctuary Law

ICE says it detained four Colombian defendants tied to an alleged burglary ring targeting Asian American households in Eugene, including two taken into custody in and outside the Lane County Jail lobby after their release on bail. Lane County officials say detainers were declined under Oregon’s sanctuary law, and DHS criticized local authorities. Two detainees appear held at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma, indicating rapid transfers. The local DA wants to prosecute before any deportation proceeds.
