ICE Detains Driver After Deadly Lewiston Park Crash; Held At Strafford County Jail

Lewiston police say the driver in a fatal pedestrian crash near Kennedy Park has been detained by ICE. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Lionel Francisco, remained at the scene and cooperated; the victim later died at a Portland hospital. ICE’s detainee locator shows Francisco, a native of Angola, is being held at Strafford County Jail in Dover, NH. Local police could not say why ICE detained him and referred questions to immigration authorities.
