ICE Detains Somali Community Leader In Minneapolis; Held At Freeborn County Jail

Omar Jamal, a prominent Somali community liaison in Minneapolis, was detained by ICE and transferred to the Freeborn County jail in Albert Lea. ICE has not disclosed the reason for the detention. Jamal, a refugee from Somalia, has a 2005 immigration-fraud conviction and has worked closely with local law enforcement.
