ICE ERO PHILLY DEPORTS MAN TIED TO 1994 MURDER OF 16-YEAR-OLD PHILLY STUDENT TO LAOS

ICE ERO Philadelphia removed Bou Khathavong, convicted in connection with the 1994 mob beating death of 16-year-old Eddie Polec, returning him to Laos. Khathavong, a dual citizen of Laos and Thailand, was ordered removed in 2004, arrested again by ICE on July 25, 2025, and deported on Sept. 2, 2025. Officials framed the removal as a public-safety action offering closure to the victim’s family.
