ICE HSI NATIONWIDE GANG SURGE NETS 1,378 ARRESTS; 280 FOR IMMIGRATION VIOLATIONS

ICE Homeland Security Investigations led a six-week nationwide surge targeting transnational gangs, resulting in 1,378 arrests. Of those, 1,098 face criminal charges and 280 were held on administrative immigration violations; 445 of the arrestees were foreign nationals from 21 countries. Authorities seized 238 firearms, significant quantities of narcotics, and nearly $492,000, with major activity in Houston, New York, Atlanta and Newark under Operation Community Shield.
