ICE Lodges Detainers To Block Release In Kansas Kidnapping-Rape Case; DHS Touts Local Partnerships

DHS says ICE lodged arrest detainers for two Guatemalan nationals, Luis Miguel Dominguez-Barrios and Jose Fernando-Lux Morales, charged in the abduction and sexual assault of a woman taken from a Newkirk, Oklahoma casino and assaulted while traveling through Arkansas City, Kansas. Dominguez-Barrios is held on $1 million bond and Morales on $500,000. Officials highlight that detainers aim to prevent release of individuals charged with violent crimes and emphasize cooperation with local law enforcement to enable eventual removal.
