ICE, MARSHALS, NATIONAL GUARD IN GEORGETOWN RAID—10–12 SEIZED; LATINO TENANTS TOLD TO VACATE

Eyewitnesses in Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown report a pre-dawn multi-agency raid on Oct. 24 involving ICE, U.S. Marshals, U.S. Park Police, D.C. police and what residents believed were National Guard personnel securing a perimeter. Residents allege no warrant was shown, Latino units were aggressively searched while non-Latino apartments were largely untouched, and an unfired rifle-caliber round was left behind. Ten to twelve people were taken; two were reportedly deported to Venezuela on Oct. 31. Afterward, Latino tenants say the landlord ordered them to vacate without proper notice.
