ICE Nabs Key Gang Member in Kansas City Scramble

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Kansas City arrested Mario Torrez-Lopez, a 34-year-old Mexican national with confirmed gang affiliations. Torrez-Lopez, a self-admitted member of the Sureños gang, has been deported from the U.S. four times since 2016 but repeatedly returned illegally and continued criminal activities across multiple states. His criminal record spans over a decade, including convictions for resisting arrest and multiple illegal re-entries, leading to federal prison sentences. ICE officials stated that Torrez-Lopez represents a significant threat that they are determined to remove from communities. His previous removal order has been reinstated, and he remains in ICE custody awaiting court appearances.
