ICE Pushes ‘Worst Of The Worst’ Arrests Through Shutdown, Nabbing Violent Convicts Across States
ICE continued nationwide targeted operations during the federal shutdown, arresting convicted noncitizens described by DHS as the “worst of the worst.” The roundup includes a Cambodian national wanted in two murders in Texas and California and multiple arrests across Texas, New York, Florida, California, Virginia, Delaware, and Georgia for offenses including child sex crimes, armed robbery, drug trafficking, and homicide. DHS emphasized public-safety enforcement and said operations would continue despite the shutdown. Local, state, and federal partners assisted, with several arrestees facing new state or federal charges in addition to immigration proceedings.
