ICE TRAFFIC-STOP SHOOTING IN CHICAGO: AGENT INJURED, SUSPECT KILLED AMID 'MIDWAY BLITZ' SURGE OF 300+ AGENTS

An ICE agent was injured after being dragged by a vehicle during a targeted traffic stop in Franklin Park, a Chicago suburb, and the suspect, identified as Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, was shot and killed by an officer. DHS says the officer is stable and the FBI is assisting the investigation. The incident unfolded amid ICE’s “Operation Midway Blitz,” which reportedly deployed 300+ agents in the Chicago area and has drawn strong community criticism and calls for transparency from Gov. J.B.
