Illegal Alien Sentenced to Life in Prison Without Parole for Raping, Murdering Rachel Morin

Victor Antonio Martinez-Hernandez, an alleged MS-13 member from El Salvador, was convicted by a Maryland jury of first-degree murder, first-degree rape, third-degree sexual offense and kidnapping in the killing of 37-year-old Rachel Morin. A Maryland judge sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole, a second life sentence, and an additional 40 years for the brutal rape, bludgeoning and strangulation. Authorities say Martinez-Hernandez was apprehended by Border Patrol on three occasions in 2023 and returned to Mexico each time before reentering the U.S. and traveling to Maryland; he was arrested in Tulsa in June 2024. The article notes prior accusations of homicide in El Salvador and alleges the defendant had ties to the MS-13 gang. Rachel’s mother, Patty Morin, has become a national advocate for victims killed by undocumented immigrants and has testified before Congress and met with political leaders.
