MASSIVE EXPANSION: Fort Bliss Set to House the LARGEST ICE Detention Center in the U.S.

The El Paso Times has obtained the first aerial images of an ICE migrant detention facility being constructed at Fort Bliss, Texas. This center is slated to become the largest in the U.S., designed to hold 5,000 single adults awaiting deportation, and began receiving its first detainees on August 1st. The facility's construction was announced in March, and the images reveal extensive temporary structures. Concerns persist regarding oversight, with U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar filing a lawsuit against the Trump administration after being denied access to other area facilities. She also raised concerns about exercising oversight at the new Fort Bliss site.
