TRUMP EXPANDS DC CRACKDOWN — OPEN TO WORKING WITH RED STATES TO TARGET CRIME, INCLUDING NONCITIZEN ARRESTS IN CHICAGO

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said President Trump is willing to work with Republican governors to replicate his Washington, D.C. crime crackdown in Democratic-run cities such as Chicago and New York. The administration reports 2,177 arrests since Aug. 7 in D.C., including known gang members and some noncitizen arrests; officials are considering National Guard support and staging operations at federal facilities. Leavitt blamed local Democratic policies like cashless bail and sanctuary resolutions for enabling crime.
