Egypt Blasts ‘Voluntary’ Gaza Exodus Claim As Nonsense, Vows To Block Forced Displacement

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty rejected portrayals of Palestinian displacement from Gaza as “voluntary,” calling it nonsense and pointing to conditions like famine risk that push civilians from their land. Speaking alongside UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini, he said Egypt will oppose any forced exodus and urged movement on a ceasefire proposal, blaming Israeli intransigence for delays. The remarks come as Israel tells Gaza City residents to move south amid intensified operations and as regional actors resist plans to relocate Gazans.
