EGYPT VOWS TO BLOCK MASS DISPLACEMENT OF PALESTINIANS, CALLS A 'GENOCIDE' IN GAZA

Egypt's foreign minister Badr Abdelatty said Egypt will not tolerate mass displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, calling forced evacuation a "red line" that would erase the Palestinian cause. He accused Israel of mass killings and of creating "artificial starvation," saying a genocide is "in motion," while Israel denies these allegations and says its operations are self-defence. The remarks mark a hardening of Egypt's rhetoric even as Cairo works with Qatar and the U.S. to mediate a ceasefire in the nearly two-year war that has devastated Gaza and produced a severe humanitarian crisis.
