Germany Moves To Deport: Berlin Seeks Syria Deal, Restarts Asylum Reviews, Eyes Afghan Removals

Germany’s interior minister says Berlin will pursue a deportation agreement with Syria by year’s end, initially targeting criminals and later rejected asylum seekers without legal status. The ministry has ordered BAMF to resume paused asylum reviews to identify who can stay or be removed, and also signaled plans to restart regular deportations to Afghanistan.
