IRELAND: 1,680 ASYLUM SEEKERS LEFT WITHOUT STATE ACCOMMODATION SINCE MAY, JUSTICE MINISTER CONFIRMS
Ireland’s Justice Minister says 1,680 single male asylum applicants received no State accommodation on arrival between May and September 2025 (May 296; Jun 309; Jul 351; Aug 317; Sep 407). IPAS cites capacity strain from the 2022–24 surge, provides a €113.80 weekly allowance to those unaccommodated, and runs outreach with NGOs, with some retrospective housing offers. Officials claim the queue of those awaiting offers fell from 3,500 in March to 613 by September, with further reductions expected.
