A 40-year-old resident of an IPAS asylum accommodation centre in Carrickmacross, Monaghan, was freed from court after roughly four months on remand for dousing himself in petrol and threatening to set the centre alight. He was arrested following the incident and held while awaiting proceedings, then walked free after the hearing.
