ISRAEL DRILLS FOR MASS ALIYAH: 800 ARRIVALS A DAY, 10,000 IN TWO WEEKS

Israel’s Immigration and Absorption Ministry ran a multi-agency simulation to test the country’s ability to absorb a sudden, large influx of Jewish immigrants fleeing antisemitic violence abroad. The exercise modeled about 800 arrivals per day over two weeks (10,000+ total), drawing on lessons from past operations and recent waves from Russia, Ukraine and post–Oct. 7 arrivals. Planners targeted evacuation logistics, airport processing, and critical data-sharing gaps seen during prior evacuations, while mapping immediate medical and child-welfare needs. The drill also stressed longer-term integration: job-matching, professional licensing reforms, tax incentives, and handling cases not eligible under the Law of Return.
