Wicklow Man Charged For Fake Post Targeting Migrant; Bail Bars Him From IPAS Asylum Centres

Bray District Court charged a Wicklow man under Ireland’s 2020 Harassment and Harmful Communications Act for allegedly creating and sharing a false social-media post accusing a migrant of indecent behavior on a bus. Gardaí said the claims were unfounded; the defendant was arrested and released on bail with conditions to avoid IPAS asylum centres and refrain from protests. Legal aid was deferred pending a statement of means, and the case was adjourned to December 8 for plea or a hearing date.
