Yale: Russia Expands Deportation Of Ukrainian Children To 210+ Sites, Adds Military Training

Yale’s Humanitarian Research Lab identified more than 210 locations across Russia and Belarus where deported Ukrainian children are held for forced re-education, with many sites providing military training and drone assembly. About half the sites are state-run, and the true number may be higher. The findings build on prior evidence that supported ICC warrants alleging unlawful deportation as a war crime. Ukraine estimates 19,500–35,000 children have been taken; roughly 1,600 have been returned.
