Dershowitz Predicts Supreme Court Will Back Trump’s Use Of 1798 Alien Enemies Act To Deport Tren de Aragua Members

Harvard law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz told Newsmax the Supreme Court will likely allow the Trump administration to deport alleged members of Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua, saying the administration could rely on inherent authority, another statute, or a broader reading of the 1798 Alien Enemies Act. His comments follow a divided 5th Circuit panel that ruled the wartime statute exceeded its scope in recent deportation actions; the ruling is expected to be appealed to the Supreme Court.
