DOJ Seeks Emergency Supreme Court Stay To Lift LA Immigration Raid Limits

The Justice Department asked the Supreme Court, via the emergency docket, to pause a Central District of California injunction that bars immigration officers from using apparent race, language, location, or job as sole grounds to question status. Solicitor General D. John Sauer argues the order unlawfully hampers enforcement and exposes agents to contempt risks. The bid follows LA-area immigration raids and comes after an appeals court declined to stay the injunction.
