ICE APPEAL KEEPS ATLANTA JOURNALIST IN FOLKSTON DETENTION; ACLU SEEKS FEDERAL ORDER FOR RELEASE

AP reports lawyers for Spanish-language journalist Mario Guevara filed a federal petition alleging ICE is retaliating against his reporting and violating his First and Fifth Amendment rights. After local charges were dropped and an immigration judge set bond, ICE appealed, keeping him held at the Folkston ICE Processing Center. The ACLU and partners ask a federal court to order his release so he can rejoin family and resume reporting.
